Solution Steps

Step 1: Navigate to Configurations > Automate Microsoft Labeling

Step 2: Proceed to the Consent Page

Step: 3 Approve Microsoft Purview Consent for Cognni

Step 4: You will be directed to the Automate Microsoft Labeling Screen

Step 5: Choose a Cognni Information Category

This will define a rule for when Cognni finds files belonging to a specific Cognni category.

Step 6: Choose a Microsoft Sensitivity Label

The Microsoft Purview Sensitivity Labels in this list reflect those in your Microsoft Purview environment. Choosing a Sensitivity Label from this list will determine which Sensitivity Label is applied when Cognni finds a specific information category.

Step 7: You will be directed to the Automate Microsoft Labeling Screen

Linking the rules defined in Steps 5 & 6 will create an active labeling rule for the entire Microsoft tenant.

NOTE: In the case of a pilot, Cognni can limit the scope of label application.

Step 8: View Your Active Labeling Rules

Your Active Automated Microsoft Labeling Rules will be visible on the right-hand side.

NOTE: Use the Category names on the left-hand side to view labeling rules under each major information category.
